Origin
Franklore was born in Guadalajara from the experience of building an independent artistic project. Born in 2026, but around since 2021.
Where it comes from
Franklore comes from the experience of developing Guille Frank, the founder, and from a background in creative and technical work: video games, composition, music production and visual creation. Always learning, testing and building.
Writing songs, building an identity, producing, playing live and growing an audience also teaches you how to run an independent project.
What we learned
Talent is not the only thing that decides how far an artist goes. Creative direction, production, how the project is presented, communication, organization, distribution and access to opportunities weigh just as much.
Franklore exists to turn part of that learning into something useful for others.
To build for others the tools, connections and opportunities that are also missing when you develop an artistic project of your own.
The name
Franklore joins Frank, from the origin of Guille Frank, with lore: the stories, tales and universes that surround a work.
It also echoes folklore, the stories and expressions a community builds and passes on. It is a resonance, we are not saying the two words share the same origin.
The idea: every artist makes more than a song. They build an identity, a story and a universe. We help develop it and connect it with more people.
How we use the name
- Franklore: the main name.
- Franklore Records: the record label activity, once it is formally defined and running.
- Plataforma Indie: the editorial outlet associated with Franklore.
Guadalajara
Guadalajara is where we come from and it is a priority. It has its own cultural identity and a lot of musical activity, and we do not reduce it to one genre or a tourist image.
From here we want to discover artists, give visibility to projects without exposure yet, bring musicians and professionals together, document releases and processes, push collaborations and connect the local scene with bigger audiences.
It is the starting point, not a limit. If there is creative affinity or an opportunity, we also work with artists from elsewhere.
Guille Frank and Franklore
Guille Frank keeps his identity and his decisions as a musical project. Franklore has its own. It is not a vehicle to promote Guille and it does not require other artists to look like him.
When the relationship between the brands matters, we say it clearly.
